John Jackson and Eric Jackson recently finished editing their parts for Standard Films’ Paradox. From the sound of it, they seem pretty stoked on their parts. They’re hanging in Mammoth, fishing, golfing and trying to soak up as much of the Summer as they can. They both plan on heading down to South America later this Summer or early Fall. Be sure to check out the Paradox premiere during the ASR trade show down in San Diego in early September. Dates to be announced.

Markku Koski is wrapping up his vacation with his girlfriend in Vancouver, Canada this week. He’s heading back to Finland, where he’ll be based until mid-September, and then it’s off to South America with Quicksilver for a photo shoot. Be sure to check out Markku in Paradox, as well.

Tyler Lepore ventured out to France with the Capita team last week. They’re off on a short European tour, visiting shops, distributors and friends for a couple of weeks. Tyler was fully multi-tasking just before the trip, getting ready for the ThirtyTwo Press Launch / Art Show in New York City on August 17. He headed home later this week to gather some last-minute art pieces just in time for the Big Apple.

Janna Meyen is on her way to New Zealand for the next month. She’ll be down unda shredding and filming for the Volcom video.

Leanne Pelosi has been one heck of a busy bee. She recently wrapped up her sessions at MGT Snowboard Camp with some of her good friends, finished editing her part in the Misschief video, bought a new car and purchased a new condo in Vancouver. What’s next, Leanne? Congratulations! We can’t wait for the housewarming!

Benji Ritchie spent the last couple of weeks shredding at some of Europe’s finest Summer camps. He’s heading back home for a bit before he goes down to New York for the ThirtyTwo Press Launch / Art Show. Be sure to check out Benji’s video part in Whiteout’s upcoming movie, The Big Blind.

Alexis Waite recently purchased a new apartment in Portland, Oregon. She said it made more sense to be based in Portland due to her hectic traveling schedule throughout the Winter. Lexi also recently finished editing her part in the Misschief video. She will be slowly but surely be getting settled into her new pad. Congratulations, Lexi!

Wille Yli-Luoma has been juggling a handful of projects within the last couple of weeks, and is anticipating a full schedule for the next month. He’s been busy trying to develop and collect about 30 of his photographs for a show, as well as attend his signature week at High Cascades Snowboard Camp in Mt. Hood with 200 kids.

Wille will be hanging out with all the campers and participating in some of the activities throughout the week. He’ll also keep busy hosting a photography contest and editing through 2700 pictures taken by each and every one of the campers attending his session. He’ll pick one lucky winner and outfit the kid with a full gear set-up of his own.

Immediately after that, Wille will jump on a plane and head down to New Zealand for a week of shredding with the Volcom crew. Then it’s right back to New York for the ThirtyTwo Press Launch / Art Show, where Wille will be showcasing some of his fine photographs.

Summer’s in full effect, people! Here’s a quick update on what the ThirtyTwo team has been up to.

John Jackson and his brother Eric took some time to chill out in SoCal with a little golfing, surfing and causing some havoc. They’re back home in Mammoth recouping from their three-week vacation. Word has it that both the Jacksons have some pretty banging shots in Standard Films’ new movie called Paradox. Be sure to check back here on the ThirtyTwo Web site for premiere dates and a sneak preview.

Markku Koski went under the knife again for the second time on the same shoulder. He’s doing well and back in action. It was a quick surgery and recovery for Markku, since he already knew what to do. He’s been skating and attending his physical therapy every day. Markku will be heading to Canada to chill out with his girlfriend for the better part of July. He may extend his visit and head to the States for the premiere of Standard Films’ Paradox in early September.

Tyler Lepore has been one heck of a busy wabbit. He’s been working on artwork and graphics for his snowboard, as well as wrenching away on his new motorcycle. Ty’s also been working with a few friends, better known as the Human Five, a collaboration of artists working together to put on art shows around Vancouver. Tyler, along with Wille Yli-Luoma, will be showcasing some of their fine artwork sometime next month. Check back for further details.

After coming off a successful season, Janna Meyen was recently nominated for an ESPY award. Votes are in and the winner will be revealed later this month. Keep your fingers crossed for Janna Meyen.

Leanne Pelosi and Alexis Waite have been coaching at the MGT Snowboard Camp in Whistler all week. Sorry, dudes. This camp is for girls only, so back off! Here’s a what Leanne had to say: “So far, the girls have been killing it and having loads of fun. It’s going really well. There have been no injuries yet, other than a missing tooth from chasing Lexi around.” Check out all these pictures from the camp.

Benji Ritchie is in Europe right now, attending some of the Summer camps in France and touring around with his other sponsors. He recently spent the month of June in Costa Rica, getting his surf on and soaking up some sun. Benji will be returning from Europe next week to chill out and visit some of his family in Montreal.

Alexis Waite took home a little bit of cash at the Abominable Snow Jam last month at Mt. Hood, nabbing 2nd place in the Slopestyle event. She’s been guest coaching with Leanne Pelosi at the MGT Snowboard Camp in Whistler all week.

Wille Yli-Luoma is pretty much settled in at his new pad in Portland, Oregon. He’s been busy getting ready for an art show scheduled sometime in August. Wille’s also getting ready to be the guest coach ad High Cascade Snowboard Camp later this month for a full session running from July 28 - August 4. Check back here for the latest.

That’s about it for now. Be sure to check back for more details on the movie premieres, Wille’s art show and other juicy gossip. Peace!

International Team Report 06-09-05

Well, well, well! It seems like it’s Summertime again! It’s finally getting warmer in Europe, and the Summer camps are busy! We have more than enough snow left in most parts of the Alps, and there’s been even more snow coming down the last couple of weeks! But, it seems like the cold days are over now, and the sun is finally getting stronger! And our team riders are getting ready for Summer!

Hampus Mosesson is already on vacation at the beach, traveling and trying to get a tan! No, that’s not true! Hampus is actually back home in Sweden! He said he traveled so much the last couple of months that he just wants to stay at home now and chill with his girlfriend and enjoy the Swedish Summer.

Thomas Harstad went to the spring session in Hemsedal, where they built a 40m kicker! Gnarly! In July, Thomas is taking off to Bali with his girlfriend and Andreas Wiig to practice his surf skills and work on his tan. Right now, Thomas is hanging out in Garmisch at the GAP 1328 Summer camp with Stian Solberg.

Cuca Aranda is still catching some waves in Spain! She’s spending most of her time surfing and skateboarding and is enjoying the Summer with her friends.

Island calling! At least for Chris Sörman, who went there to check out the IPP! He just finished school in Sweden and is now enjoying his Summer holidays.

Frederik Austbo just got back from the etnies European Open in Krakow, Poland. He skated really good, and ended up 3rd place! As you can see, Freddie fully enjoyed the afterparty, and I’ll bet he woke up with an incredible headache the next morning!

Summer is also arriving in Finland. Although it’s only about +25 degrees out, the Finns are getting ready for the beach! Unfortunately, most of our Finnish team riders are injured right now. But since sunshine makes you happy, I bet their bones and ligaments will heal with turbo speed!

Jussi Tarvainen finished his season in Riksgränsen, Sweden, where he was filming with the Absinthe Crew. Now his Summer vacations are starting, which basically means that he finally has time to work on some graphic and clothing design projects, and some other stuff! He’s also getting back into skating and is spending a lot of time in the gym to get ready for the next season!

Heppu Pentti is chilling in Helsinki, Finland. After winning the Season’s End at Camp Wappulounas in Saariselkä, and getting a brand new surfboard, he’s busy planning his Summer surf trip! Heppu also produced a new EP called Breaking the Bones with his band, Rad Natas. It is a full action package with eight hardcore skate punk songs!

For all of you who didn’t know, Ile Eronen loves rock ‘n’ roll! He just played his first gig with his band Hi Heels in Finland, and as you can see, he knows how to sport the full-on rock star look onstage! Ile’s gonna skip the Summer camps this year to record some more songs with his band and work on his new career!

So long from the Euros! Enjoy your Summer and go get your tan on!
