Markku Koski
How did last season (2003-2004) go?
Pretty good. I did a lot of contests in the beginning of the season, and was fortunate to do good in some of them. Then toward mid-season, I started filming with Standard for their new movie, Lost In Transition. I got injured in the Spring, but that gave me time to do interviews, so it wasn't actually too bad.
What did you accomplish last season?
A lot of good moments with friends, the feeling of landing a new trick, and the stuff that I mentioned above.
Did you learn any new tricks?
I learned new inverts in the pipe and a lot of new grabs for old tricks.
What did you do over the Summer?
Health care (running, swimming, skateboarding, golf, gym, football).
What do you have planned for the upcoming season?
I plan to start riding earlier, go to Australia and New Zealand, and ride a lot more pipe than last season.
What's wack about snowboarding now?
That people get stuck doing one thing and don't enjoy the whole of snowboarding. Although, if they are happy with it, I guess it's okay.
Where do you see snowboarding going?
To a more extreme side. People will have to be more fit to ride in the professional level. Jumps and stuff are getting so big that you have to be more athletic. More variety, too, when it comes to jumps, like the Battle-style. Hopefully, pipes will get new forms, as well.
What kind of job do you want after your snowboarding career is over?
Some kind of job where I can help people. It can be anything, really, but it'll most likely have something to do with snowboarding.
What do you want for Christmas?
Ham and health.
Have you ever seen Bigfoot? If not, would you like to?
Never heard of the guy.
What bugs you?
When people don't keep their promises, and disrespect nature.
What kind of dreams do you have (night dreams and things like you'd like to do in the future)?
I just always dream about being able to stay healthy and being able to do sports until I'm 70 or something.
